When you play blackjack the dealer will give you two cards, face up on the table. The dealer also takes two cards but places one face up and the other face down. Based on your cards and the dealers exposed card you must choose to stand or hit. When you stand in blackjack you choose to keep your hand as is and not to take more cards. When you ask the blackjack dealer to hit you he will give you an additional card to increase the value of your hand.
